The brief called for a showroom dedicated to contemporary lighting that could go beyond pure exhibition, while preserving a warm and approachable atmosphere. The challenge was to design a space capable of enhancing Catellani & Smith’s lighting creations, turning them into the true protagonists of an immersive, experiential environment.
More than a showroom, the project needed to become a place of connection—where light, architecture, and human interaction coexist seamlessly, transforming the act of display into a meaningful, sensory experience.

The showroom unfolds across three fully glazed levels, establishing a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior and amplifying the sense of openness throughout the space. The ground floor hosts the main exhibition area, where Catellani & Smith’s lighting collection takes centre stage within a refined, minimalist setting designed to let light itself become an architectural element. Carefully selected surfaces and materials enhance the luminous qualities of each installation, elevating the spatial experience. The first floor extends the narrative with additional exhibition areas and shared workspaces, conceived to foster exchange, creativity, and collaboration. A consistent visual language ensures continuity with the showroom below, striking a balance between professional functionality and an engaging visitor experience. The upper level introduces more intimate zones, including lounge and reception areas, transforming the showroom into a true place of encounter and hospitality. The overall atmosphere is defined by harmony, comfort, and fluid transitions, where light is not merely displayed but becomes an integral and expressive component of the architecture.
